New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office
The New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office has successfully implemented a comprehensive document management system, according to Terralogic Document Systems.
Due to their acquisition of the Corporations Division from the Public Regulation Commission, one of the difficulties the department encountered was the never-ending influx of paperwork (PRC). By automating the review and tracking of corporate forms, which were still being done manually, the SOS hoped to improve the efficiency process.
TDS demonstrated the Application Extender document management suite, which is user- and cost-friendly. Document Manager, WEB Extender, Quick Scan Pro, Custom reports, and Canon document scanners were all included in this packaged bespoke solution. These elements work well together to save an organization from continually gathering information a lot of time.
In order to enhance the PRC-inherited procedures, TDS installed and implemented this system. The Department now has a fully operational, integrated system that is still expandable as its document management requirements change, assuring long-term stability and standardization.
New Mexico Secretary of State
In Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Business Services Division of the Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State took over the Corporations Bureau of the NM Public Regulation Commission as of July 1. This action is the outcome of a Constitutional Amendment that the electorate approved in the November 2012 general election and enabling legislation that was passed in the following year’s legislative session, giving the Secretary of State (SOS) statutory authority to incorporate businesses.
After the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the Secretary of State is a state-elected office that is second in the line of succession. The Secretary of State takes on the responsibilities of the Governor when the Governor and Lieutenant Governor are not present in the state.
The Secretary of State (SOS) convenes the House of Representatives at the beginning of each new parliamentary session and serves as the Speaker of the House until a new Speaker is chosen. In addition to fulfilling his or her obligations under the constitution, the secretary of state is in charge of running the secretary of state’s office. The state’s chief election officer has the main responsibility.
All commissions issued in the name of the state and signed by the governor are sealed with the Great Seal of the State of New Mexico, which is kept by the Secretary of State.
