REVA associated with Terralogic to honor Top 10 Women Tech Leaders

REVA University in association with Terralogic Inc. hosted a mega virtual event to felicitate the women who are the changemakers in the tech world with “Top 10 Women Tech Leaders India Awards 2022’ on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2022.

The event was presided over by Dr. P. Shyama Raju, Hon’ble Chancellor of REVA University.

As a forerunner to the award ceremony, a panel discussion was held on the topic ‘Women in Technology Leadership- Way Forward’. The panel moderator was Sailaja Vadlamudi, App Sec Lead & Sr. Director of Security & Privacy at SAP. The panelists were Pankajam Sridevi, Managing Director- Commonwealth Bank of Australia (India), Mansi Thapar, Global Head- Cybersecurity, Apollo Tyres; Aparna Gupta, Executive Director-Customer Success, Microsoft India, and Rajalakshmi Srinivasan, Director, Zoho Corporation.

The panel discussed about leadership, opportunities and challenges in technology, career journey, and how to create an organizational culture promoting more women leaders. According to Pankajam Sridevi, Managing Director- Commonwealth Bank of Australia (India), “Leadership is being humble when you become successful and being courageous when you face failures”.

Aparna Gupta, Executive Director-Customer Success, Microsoft India commented, “Leadership has a sense of purpose to make a difference. Leaders create multiplier effect with collaboration”.

Rajalakshmi opined, “Leadership is taking responsibility by accepting challenges and taking ownership, particularly when things are going wrong.”

Mansi Thapar said, “Keep up the learning curve by learning new skills that will help in career transition. Any woman can reach the top with the healthy mix of family support, organization’s support, and hard work.”

The names of the awardees were announced by Hon’ble Chancellor of REVA University, Dr. P. Shyama Raju, and Vice-Chancellor of REVA University, Dr. M. Dhanamjaya.

An eminent jury comprising of Rama Kini, EVP, Terralogic Inc, Sandeep Vijayaraghavan, EVP, Terralogic Inc, Deepa Seshadri, Partner, Deloitte India, Sailaja Vadlamudi, App Sec Leader, SAP and Dr. Shinu Abhi, Director, Corporate Training, REVA University selected the winners on three criteria: technical contributions and innovations, contributions in social causes like education, diversity, environment, etc., and ecosystem development for promoting other leaders.

The prestigious award was conferred to Gnanapriya Chidambaranathan, Associate Vice President, Infosys; Rajalakshmi Srinivasan, Director- Product Management, Zoho Corporation Pvt. Ltd.; Mansi Thapar, Global Head- Cybersecurity, Apollo Tyres; Latha Chembrakalam, Vice President and Head of Technical Center, Continental Automotive; Pankajam Sridevi, Managing Director-Common Wealth Bank of Australia (India); Vidya Hungud, Executive Director-JPMorgan Chase; Preeti Bhisikar, Route to Market Leader- APAC & MEA, IBM India Pvt. Ltd.; Rachna Srivastava, Scientist G (Deputy Director-General), National Informatics Centre; Usha Rengaraju, Chief Research Officer, Exa Protocol; and Aparna Gupta, Executive Director, Microsoft.

The constructive and open panel discussion as well as the award acceptance speech by the awardees were inspirational for all irrespective of gender.
